Jessica Simpson Skin Issues

Jessica Ann Simpson at 30 has beautiful young skin that makes her look like a youngster in her early twenties. From 1999, she is has been a very success woman in her own rights as she juggled singing, acting, television and fashion with élan. She has delivered hits like "I Wanna Love You Forever" and "I Think I'm In Love With You"

But what is little known about this actress is that her skin used to have regular breakouts of acne and blemishes. Jessica has always been a star performer with great stage presence. While filming videos, her chin and skin had to be digitally enhanced so as to hide the flaws. Jessica Simpson has been very open about her battle with acne breakouts.
She says that this used to get her worried about making public appearances and affected her performance.

The paparazzi have captured her with her skin issues on stage and Jessica has commented that the images had mortified her. On her skin woes, she has commented that “I was on my first tour, and the stress was amazing. I had a terrible, terrible breakout. I just started looking sad because of the blemishes that I had. And when I shot my videos, they had to go in and digitally fix my chin. It was to the point where I was embarrassed to go onstage or do photo shoots. I was just embarrassed to be Jessica Simpson."

Jessica has had pimples on her cheek bones and chin area. Lately she was seen on TV, endorsing a product that helped her get clean, healthy and radiant skin.

Cameron Diaz’s Skin Problems

Cameron Diaz became a rage in the 1990’s.Respected not just for her gorgeous looks but also for her acting, she acted in movies like the Mask, My Best Friend's Wedding, There's Something About Mary, Charlie's Angels, Vanilla Sky, Gangs of New York, and other Hollywood films. Her latest film “Knight and day” is yet to be released.

But this stunning lass has a history of bad skin which is a nightmare for actresses who need to look their best at all times. The camera has captured her scabs, pimples and hyperpigmentation time and again. Later there were reports that she was suffering from psoriasis on her elbow and was undergoing treatment for the same.

What is psoriasis?
It is a non-contagious common skin condition which results in rapid skin cell reproduction with the skin getting red, dry, patchy and thick. It also results in dry flakes and skin scales due to rapid buildup of skin cells. Psoriasis commonly affects the skin of the elbows, knees, and scalp. The cause of this disease is unknown though it’s said to be because of genetic predisposition and environmental factors.

Treatment
There in no known permanent cure of psoriasis as it is said to come back even after treatment. Treatment for small areas involves prescription topical cortisone creams and vitamin D creams. Extensive psoriasis can be treated with injectable anti-inflammatory medicines called biologics. Since they suppress the immune system and can increase the risk of infections, those tend to be reserved for wider areas. But overuse if immunosuppressants are not recommended as they can lead to various other disorders.

Studies have shown that natural sunlight can cure psoriasis though the results may vary in patients. There are also light therapy’s available in clinics that have shown remarkable improvement in cases of psoriasis. These lights include PUVA, UVB, and narrow band UVB

Britney Spears Acne Woes

When Britney spears sang "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman", may be she was referring to her acne issues that arises usually in among teenagers. Britney has a history of acne, right from her teens to her time of pregnancy. Even with all the possible air brushing that showed her as a healthy women with peach and cream complexion, it’s been hard for Britney to hide her acne from the paparazzi. Time and again, the acne keeps coming back to haunt her.This just goes on to day that with all the money and fame, even a stare lik Britney is not immune to such skin disorders.

Causes of acne
  • Blockage of The Skin Pores: Blockage of the skin pore results in trapping of the oil within. This could occur due to and overactive oil gland enlargement which results in excess production of oil. The pores get blocked by dead skin, dust and grime.
  • Activity of Normal Skin Bacteria: The skin has a healthy growth of the bacteria propionibacterium acne that protects the skin against other bacterial infections. When oil is trapped in the skin, it promotes proliferation of propionibacterium acne. These bacteria, in the presence of oil produce chemicals which cause inflammation.
  • Inflammation: Inflamed skin is characterized by redness, swelling, warmth and discomfort. This is basically a response of the body’s immune system to get rid of unwanted foreign substances.
  • Heredity Can Play a Role: Studies show that there can be history of acne in the family which means that there can be genetic basis to acne.
Tips to cure acne
  1. Drink water- Water is the best source of detoxification. It also helps to keep the skin healthy and glowing.
  2. Wash your face with an antibacterial facewash or soap to kill bacteria.
  3. Add fruits to your diet as they contain antioxidants that help fight acne. Green tea is also a healthy alternative.
  4. Have green, leafy vegetable and salads as they are a good source of multi vitamins and salads.
  5. Maintain hygiene- Wash your pillow case often as they absorb the bacteria and oil and you get exposed to them every time you sleep. Also wash your towels as often as possible.
  6. Avoid make up as they block pores and prevent your skin from breathing out.
  7. Keep you hair dandruff free as dandruff flakes can also block the pores and result in acne
  8. Do not keep touching and pricking your pimples as they increase the sebum production. It also causes the membrane to rupture and increases the chances of infection.
