Mariah Carey, the diva who’s the heart throb of millions has sold more than 175 million albums, singles and videos all over the world. She is been listed among the world’s best selling music artist and has bagged awards like Billboard’s Artist of the Decade Award and the World Music Award for Best-Selling Female Artist of the Millennium.

Being an American R&B, pop and hip hop singer, actress, songwriter and record producer and an actress she’s always in the lime light. Mariah has never been a stick thin model, but proudly displayed her well rounded assets, curvy finger and care-a-damn attitude whenever she made public appearance.

She is among the rare breed of celebrities who were never too fitness crazy and resorted to healthy eating while loosing weight. Whenever she had to loose weight, she followed the simple rule of not eating carbohydrates and proteins in the same meal. This is based on the theory that these nutrients are absorbed in different areas of the gut. So eating those at different times will ensure that they are absorbed more efficiently which in turn helps in better weight loss than having a balanced meal. Otherwise Mariah has a good diet that comprises of lots of fruits, lean protein and good fats which provide the necessary 1,000 to 1, 5000 calories in a day. Based on this diet, she was able to drop 20 pounds. When she needs to cut down on calories immediately, she goes on a bleak diet that consists of “basically soups and fish prepared really blandly”. Her workouts consist mostly of water aerobics which she does with her trainer Patricia.

Though her career saw a slack for a few years, she was back with a bang with her tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005) which contained contributions from producers such as The Neptunes, Kanye West and Jermaine Dupri.
