Katie Holmes is famous for being Tom Cruises better half. But in her own rights, she is a renowned American actress who has starred in Dawson’s Creek, a television teen drama that ran from 1998 to 2003. In movies, she has starred in art house films such as Ice Storm, Abandon and Batman Begins. Before the birth of her daughter, this 5 ft 9 inch actress was in top in shape. In 2006, she had given birth to Suri, fathered by Tom Cruise. This made her put on a few extra pounds.

Immediately after giving birth to Suri, she was maligned and ridiculed by the media for loosing weight really fast as they thought that this set an unhealthy example to her fans. But now, Katie is slim and healthy all over again. It’s a known fact that Katie enjoys sweating it out in the gym to maintain her weight and loves looking after her body.

Diet

Katie Holmes consumed a diet that was 1000 calories per day comprising of high protein and low fat.

Workouts

Katie loves to do cardio and has also done Barry’s Boot Camp. But she does claim that there are times when she doesn’t feel at it and misses on her exercise regime.

On her fitness routine, Katie quotes “I grew up in an environment full of athletes and unfortunately I wasn’t one of them. My parents are very healthy. We go running on Thanksgiving – I mean, what family does that? It has to be before the big turkey dinner. My dad is really ambitious and makes us all go. Exercise is definitely important, but the long hours sometimes prevent me from being a good girl and getting my cardio workout.”
